MAC Glamour Daze: Holiday Colour Collection

Today the Limited Edition MAC Glamour Daze: Holiday Collection launches!

'The glamour of getting ready to step out for the holidays. Sweet to sexy, lips to nails. Every angle, every detail obsessed over. An unforgettable look emerges in a cool cloud of pale pink edged with smoky grey - the shimmer of a festive finishing touch. One last glance and you're out the door. Limited edition.'

How cute is this collection? The colours, the packaging, the brushes - these would make really cute Christmas presents! This collection also brings the return of Kohl pencils Raven, Orpheus & Mystery, which you definitely don't want to miss. The nail varnishes are super cute, my favourite is Everything That glitters (far right of the photo). I'll definitely be picking some items up as I'm sure a lot of this collection will sell out soon.

Royal & Langnickel - Brush Essentials 18 Piece Set

As mentioned in my haul post, I recently attended Professional Beauty Dublin, where I purchased this Royal & Langnickel brush set. Royal & Langnickel specialise in developing, manufacturing and marketing high quality make up brushes.
This 18 piece set comes with a mixture of face and eye brushes. The brushes are really high quality and barely shed, apart from the first few uses, which is expected.

There are a few 'basic' brushes, which perform well and do what they're supposed to but I don't have a lot to say about them;

I have a bit more to say about some of the brushes, though.

Contour Powder BE13
I love love love this brush for contouring, it's not too fluffy, it's really defined and concentrates product in the one place you want it to go.

Concealer BE14
This brush is basically a standard concealer brush but I've just really taken a liking to it! It's one of my favourites from the set, I'm going to be using this for a long time

Crease BE17
I use this brush for blending and it reminds me of the Mac 217, the way it's tapered. It's SUCH a good blending brush.

Lip BE08
I use this for outlining my brows with concealer and it's just the right size for it, I could make do with the concealer brush but it'd be a bit too big. This brush is just small enough to get the detail right.

Foundation BE16
This is the only brush I'm disappointed in. I feel it's not dense enough to properly apply foundation, it just sweeps it over the face and leaves streaks, and it also soaks up a lot of the product. Hopefully I'll figure out a way to make this work

Smudger BE07
This brush is incredible for detail shadow, especially under the eye. It has a relatively flat top which helps pack on eyeshadow in small spaces

Detail Liner BE11
This is a standard small liner brush but I love it. I wish it was a bit more dense but other than that, it's pretty perfect

Angled Brow BE10
I LOVEEE this brush for outlining my brows, especially my arch. It has such a fine brush head that it gives a sharp line. If you're looking for a brow brush for detail then I really suggest this.

I'm really impressed with this brush set and would definitely recommend it to anyone. It's cheap and cheerful, and the brushes are really high quality.
You can purchase this brush set and others on the Royal & Langnickel website.

Beauty haul

It's come to my attention that over the past 6/7 weeks I've gathered a lot of cosmetics/accessories, so why not make a haul post?

I picked up this Collection BB cream 'BB Secrets' in Boots as it was on offer and I love trying different BB creams - when I find one that works well, I feel so confident when I wear it. I picked mine up in 'light'.

I wasn't overly impressed with it - it can make you look quite orange and make your face look oily.

After hearing so much about Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation, I decided to pick it up in Penneys, and as I needed a new concealer (I'm running out of my Collection Lasting Perfection and my shade is always sold out everywhere... damn the Irish and their pale skin) I got the matching Wake Me Up concealer, both in 100 Ivory

I don't really see the 'anti-fatigue- effect much but overall, these are good products.

Inglot are discontinuing their circle shadows/concealers, so there was an offer of 50% off circle pan palettes in the freedom system. I took the opportunity to get some bright, good quality colours.

I saw the new Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick range in McCabes over the weekend and decided to try one out. I got shade 110 - a really pretty mauve/pink shade. It reminds me of Revlon Pink Pout/Mac Snob

I really like this lipstick, I'm definitely going to pick up more shades. The formula isn't overly matte and it's not drying.

I first saw this Essence make up base about a month ago and decided against getting it but when I saw it again I decided to get it. Depending what foundation you use this with, it can work really well or not that much of a difference. I'd suggest just trial and error. I do recommended to not use it over foundation as a highlight on cheekbones, bridge of the nose etc. as it doesn't blend well with set foundation/powder.

Collection Skylash (previously Skyscraper, it's now re-formulated) was on offer in Boots which encouraged me to buy it. Overall it's quite a good mascara, nothing really spectacular, but I'll probably repurchase.

I really like Essence lipliners so picked up this dark pink in Cute Pink. These lipliners are so moisturising, glide on so smoothly and can easily be used all over lips by themselves as they are so opaque.

For my birthday, I received the HD Brows Kit in 'Vamp'. After what feels like forever since they first came on the scene in Glossybox (was it September 2011?), I can finally give my own review on it; I was expecting more after it was hyped up so much but I really like this palette, I use it daily on my brows and also it's great for using on eyes.

Standing in Boots, debating whether or not to go down to the Benefit counter in House of Fraser to get Hoola bronzer, I saw this beauty.

The foundation is way too dark for my pale skin to wear, I'll try it maybe when I have tan on. Bad Gal Lash mascara makes your lashes really voluminous, and the reason I bought the little kit, Hoola bronzer, is really as good as people say. It doesn't make me look orange and works super for contouring. I'll definitely be
buying the full size of it.

I've read about how the Kiss Care Love lipbalms from Essence are really moisturising, so I decided to get one. I haven't had a proper chance to test it out yet, so all I can say for now is that they smell reeeallly sweet, something I'm not a huge fan of but doesn't bother me TOO much.

I repurchased my beloved, trusty Essence gel eyeliner. If you haven't tried this out, I suggest you do as soon as possible -it's my go to gel liner for less than €4

Another repurchase was my again trusty Duo Lash glue (Dark Tone). By far the best lash glue I've ever used.

My friend got me these Georgia Salpa (how gorgeous is she??) lashes for my birthday, I can't wait to wear them, they look so dramatic and full. I'm going to use them next weekend and I'll do a FOTD.

I recently attended Professional Beauty Dublin, which I thoroughly enjoyed as I do every year , and picked up this Royal & Langnickel 18 piece brush set which I'll do an in-depth review on next. They're really good quality for such a reasonable price. You can check out Royal brushes here.

So that's what I've picked up over the past little while. I still want to get some winter lipsticks, which are next on my list. I'm so excited for Christmas already, I've been watching Christmas movies all week. My favourites have always been The Santa Clause trilogy, such classics.
I hope you're all well, until next time, thank you for reading. xx
